# AOVR Token

The **ALLOVR token (AOVR)** is the basic utility and governance token fuelling the ALLOVR community. The vision of the ALLOVR community is to create alignment of interest among artists, gallerists, collectors and art lovers. 

The **AOVR token** is required for three fundamental types of activities allowed by the ALLOVR dApp:

1. Minting new artist tokens
2. Requesting (the creation of a new) artwork token (NFT) 
3. Participating in governance decisions of the ALLOVR DAO

These core activities underlie the value creation in the ALLOVR community. 

Artists and creators are the pillars of the community - without artists there are no vibrant or lively communities. This is why community members claiming artist status and the associated artist token need to incur some cost in AOVR. 

Similarly for the creation of an artwork - this activity should also be associated with a cost priced in the native AOVR - art is not junk that can be used to flood the market. 

Finally, participating in the decision making that will lead to the growth and flourishing of the community itself also requires the AOVR token. 

AOVR is, hence, **both a governance and a utility token** in the ALLOVR community.
